VIVACE ensures a delightful acoustic experience like in a concert hall at "Classics on Odeonsplatz" in Munich
An amazing open-air concert experience
Two veritable summer nights, numerous musical highlights and a breathtaking setting: Since 2000, during one weekend each year, Munich's Odeonsplatz is turned into a venue for first-rate concerts. On July 16 and 17, 2016, i.e. for the 16th time already, the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra performed with excellent soloists at "Classics on Odeonsplatz". An audience of over 16,000 enjoyed music like in a real concert hall – but in front of the Feldherrnhalle's historical setting.
The demands on the acoustical quality of these concerts by far exceed the usual expectations on classical music open-air concerts. Nowadays, "Classics on Odeonsplatz" is well known, not only among experts, for its perfect sound that sets standards. This quality is achieved by a sound system perfectly planned and installed by Neumann&Müller, by the outstanding skill of the sound engineers at the control console and – since 2010 – by using the electro-acoustic room enhancement system VIVACE. Not only turn the acousticians of Müller-BBM the square into a huge concert hall, they also support the musicians on the podium in hearing each other play and in perceiving an enclosed space. Over the years, the cooperation of all parties involved has constantly been optimized and come to bear fruit: Both the audience and critics are enthusiastic – and the organizers are happy about concerts invariably sold out.
