At the beginning of 2024, the VIVACE system used so far in the main hall was replaced by the latest VIVACE hardware and software.

Even back in the 1950s, when it was still known as Städtische Bühnen Gelsenkirchen, the Musiktheater im Revier (MiR) was one of the most important stages in the German-speaking countries. In February 2024, the VIVACE system in the main auditorium was equipped with new hardware and software and recalibrated from scratch.
