At a regional group meeting of the Verband Deutscher Tonmeister (VDT) in October, around 30 participants explored the capabilities of the VIVACE installation at Beethovenhalle Bonn.
Following a presentation by Peutz on the hall’s acoustic design, Felix Beckmann from Müller-BBM Acoustic Solutions demonstrated the installation’s electronic room acoustics and 3D audio capabilities.
The ensemble BlechArt Cologne performed a varied repertoire, giving participants a first-hand impression of the hall’s acoustics and the VIVACE installation. Their live performances provided an opportunity to experience the interaction between instruments, hall acoustics and electronic room acoustics under live performance conditions.
At Beethovenhalle Bonn, restored to preserve its architectural heritage, VIVACE supports the hall’s natural acoustics. The demonstration gave the audience a direct insight into how electronic room acoustics can be used in musical practice: reflection patterns, reverberation decay and spatial perception can be tailored to different programmes and ensemble configurations. Felix Beckmann also demonstrated the installation’s 3D audio capabilities for spatial sound design and immersive listening experiences.
We thank the VDT for organising the meeting, BlechArt Cologne for their musical contribution, and all participants for the exchange of professional insights.
